Phil Hanson BRDC

Phil Hanson has been selected as a BRDC Rising Star. Aged 24 and under, the BRDC Rising Stars are very much the future of the Silverstone-based Club. Scouted from trackside, the BRDC Rising Stars are in effect ‘Junior Members’ of the prestigious Club, all taking their motor racing very seriously and all aiming for a professional career within the sport. From all four-wheel racing disciplines, the Rising Stars represent the BRDC in a wide variety of championships worldwide, and from the races contested while wearing the scheme's unique ‘blue roundel’ it is hoped the Rising Star will graduate to the ranks of Full membership.

Phil commented: "I’d like to thank the BRDC for putting me on a programme that has seen many of the 'big' names and successful racing drivers accomplish great things through rising stars. Many single-seater drivers are selected so I'm especially happy to have been spotted in the sportscar category."

Luke Evans, spokesperson for the BRDC, added: “The BRDC is delighted to welcome Phil to the Rising Star scheme. The Rising Star Scouts have been monitoring Phil’s progress over the last few seasons and considering his career in sports cars is relatively young, his credentials are very impressive indeed. We are confident that he has the potential to be a very successful racing driver and it is hoped that an early introduction to the Club will assist his development. As he continues on his projected career path, it is hoped that his aspirations to qualify for Full Membership of the BRDC will be fulfilled by achieving the required results, something which he is already well on his way to accomplishing.”
